Bought the HD50 to replace another in a long line of cheaper fans that continued to fail through almost constant use. The HD50 is built much better than the cheaper models, is very quiet, and has a sealed motor for longer life. Works great so far, but time will tell if it actually lasts longer than the others. Note that the mounting box is larger than a regular bath fan so you have to replace the whole thing and cut a larger hole in the ceiling to fit if you are replacing an existing standard bath fan.

I was asked by our contractor to purchase 50 cpm for new house we are building. It had to fit a 4" round duct. This hd model had everything that was required in addition to low sone rating. Couldn't have asked for better.

THIS FAN COVER IS METAL AND LOOKS MORE INDUSTRIAL BUT WHEN INSATLLED IT LOOKS GOOD AND IS VERY QUIET. WHICH IS WHAT I WANTED.

We used this to replace a fan in a small powder room. The fan is awesome, it is very quiet. (Maybe too quiet if that is possible. . . ) It was well worth the price, especially compared to the "Nu-Tone" fans offered at [...]. They were 2-3 times noisier and were about twice the price. I would definitely recommend this product.
