Aldes VentZone Register Terminal - Basic 4" (Part # 36 160). Provides basic on/off zoned ventilation via motorized damper.

This basic VentZone Register Terminal includes on/off damper and 4" mounting collar.  Continuous airflow regulators (CARs) can be purchased separately and inserted into the "neck" of unit to provide a constant, balanced rate of airflow.

Multi-area ventilation just got better!  The VentZone register terminal allows on-demand zoned ventilation of problem areas.  These energy-efficient systems eliminate unnecessary ventilation symptomatic of many popular remote fan installations, while increasing airflows where needed.  Perfectly suited for residential and commercial applications, VentZone systems combine demand controlled register terminals and multi-port inline exhaust fans.

How does it work?

Each VentZone terminal contains a primary flow damper that opens when called upon by a switch, timer, dehumidistat, or occupancy sensor.  Once the damper is opened - the VentZone terminal signals the fan to operate and only exhausts from the open VentZone terminal.    The ZRT series terminals can themselves activate fans used in smaller central exhaust ventilation systems. Through the use of an integral damper end-switch, the ZRT can trigger the remote fan to start. This provides the distinct advantage of allowing the fan to only ventilate specific spaces when called upon, again without the need for separate fans in each space. This is especially important in residential bath exhaust applications using popular in-line and multi-port fans, where extremely low noise and single exterior vent penetrations are desired.

Comments about American Aldes Aldes VentZone Register Terminal - Basic 4":

Used this to vent two back to back bathrooms with one fan/wall penetration. It works great! I also like the fact that the motorized flap acts as a secondary back-draft damper. I installed with insulated flex duct and the noise in the bathroom is minimal. I may put in a digital timer switch just because it is so quiet you might forget to turn the fan off. Great product. I would buy them again.

Comments about American Aldes Aldes VentZone Register Terminal - Basic 4":

I used these Dampers during initial construction of my home, three years ago. I have one fan in the attic that services 4 of the ZRTs all connected to timing swithces. So far, these ZRTs have performed flawless. What I like is that there is zero fan noise (only the sound of air flowing). I do not know how hard they would be to install post construction, but as initial build, they are as easy to install as a rough-in "can" light assembly. The only tricky part could be the wiring. If wiring doesn't make sense to you, let an electrician do it. If you "get" circuits, this is easy. Duct running is easy. Hope this helps someone!
